Zambia locally based players

Chipolopolo stand-in coach Aggrey Chiyangi says no foreign based players will be drafted in the Cosafa squad as he is also building for the African Nations Championship preparations.

Speaking at the close of the weekly camp, Chiyangi said that including foreign based players will distort the preparations for the CHAN qualifiers in July.

Zambia plays Botswana in a two-legged tussle of the final qualifying round of the CHAN.

He said that the Cosafa Cup will be used as part of preparations for the CHAN which is exclusively for local players.

“For us our concentration is to play Cosafa and also build on the preparations for CHAN. If you consider those that are playing in South Africa, it means we will disturb our preparation for CHAN. We just have to use the players that we will use for CHAN,” he said.
