Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga has urged Bola Na Lesa to fix eyes on the Olympics after securing qualification to the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
Kamanga was on hand to welcome the victorious squad in the early hours of yesterday from Brazaville where Beston Chambeshi’s Bola Na Lesa boys braved bad refeering to eke out a 3-3 draw against Congo Brazaville to secure passage to Egypt via 5-4 aggregate victory over the Junior Red Devils.
The AFCON in Egypt shall be the qualifying tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics men’s football tournament.
The three best teams in Cairo qualify to Japan.
Kamanga reiterated that FAZ shall ensure the team was adequately prepared to excel at the continent’s eight team tournament which starts November 11.
Zambia aims to make an appearance at the men’s football Olympics for the first time in 31 years.
