The four Zambian CAF competition envoys for the 2018/19 Champions League and Confederation season will be decided at 35, FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala has announced.
Kashala told a media briefing that CAF had set October 15 as the deadline for associations to send names of participants from respective leagues.

“You are aware that CAF has changed the calendar and we also have to adjust. This season because we have been caught up, we have to submit the four participants in CAF competitions by 15th October,” Kashala said.
“We have compressed our Super League so that by 6th October we should be able to find the clubs that will participate.”

He added: “We have drawn the line at Week 35 and not 38. Week 35 will decide the first four clubs to participate in the CAF championship next year because we will only have less than 10 days in which to submit.”

CAF has revised its calendar that will see the Africa Cup of Nations held in June instead of January as has been traditional whilst the continental championships will commence in the last quarter of every year.

Zambia will eventually have to change its league to align it to the new structure. Under the current structure the Zambian league usually commences at the end of March.
