Exciting playmaker Larry Bwalya [Rally Bwalya] says Power Dynamos has to continue doing extraordinary things this season to be considered as a serious contenders for the 2018 Super League title.
The Kitwe side stunned hosts and favourites Nkana 2-1 away at Nkana Stadium on Monday to stay unbeaten and at the summit of the MTN FAZ Super League table.
Power have 10 points out of possible 12 points after dropping points for the first time this season on Friday when Kitwe United held them to a 1-1 home draw at Arthur Davies Stadium.
Bwalya, who has scored two goals for Power in four games this year, said in a post-match interview at Nkana Stadium that the win over their town rivals was a massive result.
“It was big win; we wanted to make amends for the game against Kitwe United when we dropped two points. And you know playing Nkana is a derby that everyone wants to win and take over the city. So it is a big push for us and the club,” Bwalya said.
Nkana proved to be Power’s biggest test to date in terms of their potential of staying at the top although they have an away date against defending champions Zesco United looming over the horizon in Week –Six after the hosts Nakambala Leopards this weekend in Kitwe.
“The win is also a big stepping stone for us in terms of the league and our aim to play continental football next year and we will keep pushing ourselves with each game we play,” Bwalya said.
He said getting to the top was not easy but that the team needed to continue working hard and do extraordinary things to stay up there.
