Riaan Hanamub, Hendrick Somaeb and Willy Stephanus joins the Brave Warriors camp today ahead of the clash against Zambia on Saturday, 8 September, 16h00, for their Group K 2019 AFCON qualifiers match at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
The trio are part of the 25 men squad that Coach Ricardo Mannetti announced last week and they flew in on Monday morning with Egypt-based Benson Shilongo expected to join the team on Tuesday.
“Today’s training session was one to see how the guys that just joined the camp are doing as we prepare to host Zambia. We will have some days before we finalize our match day squad by the end of the week” so far no injuries and we are pushing. It was a normal session for the technical team to see the level of the guys”, Mannetti says.
The coach adds that his team will be ready for the match on Saturday: “Talking before the game is for fans and not for the technical people. We should be respected and we respected Zambia and football and we want to get the three points and we will be ready for it. We will be at home and we should all be professional in our approach for the game”.
Match- day entry tickets are on sale for N$ 50 on Computicket outlets at Shoprite and Checkers stores countrywide as well as at Football House in Katutura.
It will be the third meeting between the two neighbors this year, having drawn 1-1 at the African Nations Championships in Morocco, and Zambia edging their Cosafa Cup quarterfinal 4-3 following a goalless stalemate in South Africa.
Namibia and Zambia are on zero points in Group K after losing by the same 1-0 score lines away to Guinea Bissau and at home against Mozambique, respectively, in June 2017.
