Chipolopolo caretaker coach Aggrey Chiyangi says he will summon seven foreign based players for March 23 Africa Cup qualifier against Namibia at National Heroes Stadium.
And Chiyangi says the technical bench will consider calling Black Leopards striker Mwape Musonda who is leading the scorers’ charts in the ABSA Premiership with 12 goals.
In an interview, the 2018 Zambian Coach of the Year said there will be foreign players summoned for the Namibia clash with the exception of Under-23 players that will be on duty against Malawi.
“We will call some foreign based players apart from those that are playing for the Under-23. We will call about six or seven,” he said.
Chiyangi said the technical bench was taking an interest in Musonda’s prolific form in the ABSA Premiership.
“When we sit down, we are going to discuss and see if we can invite him and then come and have a look at him. It is important if somebody is doing well, you bring them and see what they can offer,” he said.
Musonda has been in fine form with his second half hat-trick helping Leopards come from 2-0 down to beat Chippa United 3-2 on Sunday.
It was the first treble scored in the PSL in two years as the Zambian leaped up the scoring charts to 12 goals.
Musonda still has eight games remaining and says he will be pushing himself to add to his tally.
