Named Sports Team of Southern Africa for 2017, the Zambia Under-20 class of 2017 African champions have been given greenlight to share the prize money.

A source revealed, “FAZ has let the players share the prize money that comes with the award. The money won shall be shared among all the players.

“We hear FAZ president Andrew Kamanga has also pledged to add on to the money using his personal resources to appreciate the team for putting Zambia on the map. ”

Meanwhile, Zambia boss Beston Chambeshi and captain of the Under-20 class of 2017 Solomon Sakala, Boston Muchindu and Ngosa Sunzu presented the award to Sports Minister Moses MAWERE in Lusaka today.

Also present as the picture shows was FAZ president Kamanga and Director of Sports Bessy Chilemu among others.

Chambeshi who guided the boys to a historic Africa Cup triumph and a first ever quarter-final appearance at the World Cup, however, lost out to South Africa coach of Caster Semenya in Coach of the Year.
