CHAMBISHI assistant coach Fred Mooto says his action to sprinkle ‘holy water’ on the pitch before Sunday’s Division One Zone Two Week 28 match against Mufulira Wanderers was psychological and aimed at unsettling the visitors’ rhythm.
And Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) general secretary Adrian Kashala has warned of stern action against perpetrators of violence.
Mooto’s action incensed Wanderers players and supporters resulting in kick-off delaying for 30 minutes.
Referee Vernon Nyambe gave Mooto matching orders before kick-off.
Mooto said in an interview yesterday that he was prompted to ‘revenge’ after Wanderers performed some superstitious acts prior to warm-up.
“There was nothing in that container apart from water. I knew Wanderers would be psychologically defeated if they saw me with the container and pouring water on the pitch because some of the things they did before warm-up were strange
