The Chipolopolo boys have returned from their week long training camp in Mongu Western Province where they were shaping up for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) to be staged in Morocco.
Coach Wedson Nyirenda took his 28-member provisional on the sandy beaches of Mongu as part of the team building and practice exercise.
The team will set up camp in Lusaka before departure for Morocco later this week.
Zambia opens its Group B account on January 14 against Uganda with a tie against Ivory Coast coming four days later.
The Chipolopolo will conclude its group matches on January 22 against Namibia.
Zambia has been at the CHAN twice with a third place finish in 2009 while their last appearance in 2016 ended with a quarterfinal finish.
Nyirenda is expected to name his final 23-member squad on Wednesday.
