Current ZSL top scorer Idriss Mbombo scored a hatrick and increased his personal tally to 19 goals as he helped NKANA FC to a 3-1 win over KYSA at NKANA Stadium in an ill tempered Week 31 match.

Nkana FC began the match on a slow note before Mbombo popped up in the 34th minute to score via a Kelvin Kampamba assist as the match went into halftime with Nkana leading 1-0.

Mbombo scored again in the second half via a header as NKANA threatened to run away with it before KYSA striker George Quarshie pulled a goal back in the 76 min.

KYSA’S goal led to some nervous moments as NKANA FC fans had memories of KYSA coming back from two goals down in Kabwe in the first leg to draw 2-2 with Nkana fc.

Mbombo calmed things down by adding a 3rd in the 88th minute via a disputed penalty which resulted in KYSA coach Chewe Mulenga getting sent off after a confrontation with the match officials.

The win sends Nkana to 61 points in 3rd position and just 3 points from the top while KYSA remain in 18th place on 25 points.
