ZANACO goalie Toaster Nsabata has turned down an offer to join South African first division side Highlands Park.
Nsabata, who has been named in the Chipolopolo squad, which is currently making preparations ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) slated for Morocco this month, has been elusive and his where about has raised concern among soccer fans.
But Zanaco secretary Jordan Maliti, has told the Zambia Daily Mail, that the former Zamcoal Diggers shot stopper, would like to feature at the CHAN tournament before making headways for greener pastures.
“We told him to go and play for the country at the African Nations Championship first, where he should showcase his skills and other clubs may see him,” Maliti said.
Nsabata, is looking forward to consolidate his position as first choice goalkeeper for the senior national soccer team but this will depend on his availability and performance at the tournament.
However, if Nsabata appends a deal with a foreign club before the Morocco tournament, then he will be ineligible to play, since the tournament is exclusively meant for local players.
