Chipolopolo skipper Lubambo Musonda says Zambia has no illusions about the challenge of playing away but everyone is ready to reap maximum points at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown this evening.
In an interview with the FAZ media, Lubambo said the team had prepared very well for the return leg after winning 2-1 in the first leg.
“We have been preparing very well and the players are ready for the game. We will deliver,” said the Polish Ekstraklasa club Slask Wroclaw star.
The former National Assembly and Power Dynamos star says playing away presented challenging scenarios, but Zambia was ready.
“An away match is always a different match; they will be confident playing at home, but we won’t give them a chance to over play us. We have come here to get three points and will play to get goals.”
He added: “We will give our best on the pitch; we will give our best so that we get the three points that we came here to get.”
Lubambo says captaining the Chipolopolo is a great honour.
The former under-20 skipper was named Zambia captain in Thursday’s home match and is expected to maintain that role where he is deputized by Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Enock ‘Computer’ Mwepu.
“It is a great honour, though I am not under pressure with it. It is something that I must take responsibility with,” he said.
Zambia faces Botswana at 18:00 hours today (Monday) in the Cameroon 2021 Group H Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The match will be live on Botswana National Television (BTV).
