Former Zanaco Star Augustine Mulenga scored an 87th minute equaliser for the Orlando Pirates side that came back from behind to draw 2-2 against Zimbabwean champions FC Platinum in the CAF Champions League group stage match day five encounter played this evening at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Mulenga came on in the 46th minute for defender Marcelo da Silva when Pirates were 2-0 down. Zambian compatriot Justin Shonga played the full match and was Part of the build up for Mulenga’s goal.
The draw keeps Pirates hopes of qualifying to the quarterfinals alive, Pirates will now have to beat Horoya AC away in Guinea on the last day to progress.
Current African champions Esperance De Tunis have already qualified to the quarterfinals and are assured of topping the group leaving Horoya to battle Pirates for second place. Horoya are one point ahead of Pirates.
