2018 Zambia Super Division debutants Monze Swallows Football Club have settled for trials in order to reinforce their Southern Province based team ahead of the fast approaching 2018 season.
According to their team social media, majority of the players that came for trials expressed their confidence though some felt intimidated by the fact that they were being tried.
However, some of the players spoken to expressed confidence that they were ready to compete at the highest level.
Clifford Choongo player from Division One Zone Four side Livingstone Pirates expressed happiness in having been accorded an opportunity to showcase his potential.
“I’m ready to play at the highest level the Super League because I have been working hard as an individual in order for me to be a better player. I wish to work extra hard and perhaps help Swallows maintain its Super League status.” The Livingstone Pirates midfielder further expressed confidence that he was not afraid to compete against big names in the Elite Competition.
Speaking at the same occasion, Show Stars right back Julia Mumba also expressed confidence in being one of the players that would help the team in different aspects. The former Zambia College of Agriculture – Monze student said he had alot of time to himself to become a better player.
“To me, these trials are an opportunity for Swallows to see hidden talent as they have opened the doors to everyone. ”
Meanwhile, one of the spectators George Buumba applauded the initiative by Swallows and called upon the players to be mentally ready.
“Nchanga Rangers did it the same way Swallows is doing it and they put in spirited fight. I am encouraging the boys to be ready for the challenge once they get selected. “
